Our constitution aims "To bring town and country together" and this rings as true now as it did when we first created it over a 150 years ago.
We love promoting our primary sector to a wide audience, facilitating events, acknowledging our history and heritage, developing educational programmes, awarding scholarships, and celebrating excellence in all its forms so that our sector and region can continue to develop grow and prosper.

The Hawke’s Bay A&P Society is a charitable, not for profit incorporated society. Formed in 1858, the agricultural and pastoral movement was originally set up to champion the primary industry sector.
For over 150 years, the Hawke’s Bay A&P Society has promoted agricultural, pastoral, horticultural, viticulture and forestry resources through its various channels including organized events such as The Royal A&P Show, National Horticulture Field Day, The Hawke’s Bay A&P Wine Awards, the Famer of the Year Award and the Primary Sector Awards.
The Society is located at the historic and beautiful Showgrounds Hawke’s Bay Tomoana and the facilities on site are frequently hired out for local and national events. The site is the home base for New Zealand first, and largest Farmers Market and the international event; Landrover Horse of Year.
The Hawke’s Bay A & P Society is paving the way for initiative and forward thinking in the rural sector, contributing to positive economic development across the region.
